Ford Taurus Maintenance Schedule
Keeping your new 2014 Ford Taurus in top condition through regular scheduled maintenance is important. It will extend the life of the vehicle and keep it running reliably and safely. The Ford Taurus maintenance schedule will help you keep on top of your vehicle’s maintenance.
* Oil Changes *
The 2014 Taurus is equipped with the state of the art IOLM or Intelligent Oil Life Monitor. This will display the message “Oil Change Required” when it senses that the oil is old or dirty. When this happens, change the oil (up to six quarts) and the oil filter. It’s also recommended to change the oil every 12 months, even if the message has not been displayed. During the oil change, rotate the tires and inspect for damages or wear. Be sure to lubricate and inspect the ball joints, half and drive shafts, u-joints, suspension joints and all non-sealed steering linkage.
* 20,000 Miles *
At 20,000 miles it’s time to change the carbon air filter if your Taurus has one equipped. Also perform the standard multi-point inspection, which should be done with every oil change and maintenance service.
* 30,000 Miles *
At this point you will want to change the climate control seat filters if equipped as well as the engine air filter.
* 40,000 Miles *
Replace your carbon air filter when you reach 40,000 miles.
* 60,000 Miles *
Again, replace the carbon air filter, the climate control seat filters, and the engine air filter at 60,000 miles.
* 80,000 Miles *
It’s time to replace that carbon air filter again when you have driven 80,000 miles.
* 90,000 Miles *
Now you need to change the climate control seat filters and the engine air filter to maintain optimal performance.
* 100,000 Miles *
Rolling over to 100,000 miles is a big milestone for your vehicle. Treat it to new platinum spark plugs. Also replace the carbon air filter and orange coolant. Do not forget to inspect the drive belts for wear and replace if needed.
* 120,000 Miles *
Inspect the drive belts if they were not replaced at the last maintenance service. Also change out the carbon air filter, climate control seat filters, and the engine air filter.
* 140,000 Miles *
The carbon air filter will need to be replaced and you should inspect the drive belts if they are still the original ones.
* 150,000 Miles *
Hitting the 150,000 mile mark is another big milestone in owning a car. At this point you will want to change the transmission fluid and orange coolant. The climate control seat filters will also need to be replaced as well as the engine air filter. If you have not already, within the last 100,000 miles, now’s the time to replace the drive belts.
