With a ton of new safety features, the Ford Escape is smarter and more dependable than ever. So what kinds of safety technologies can you expect from this new SUV and how can they keep your mind at ease while you drive through Long Beach, Cerritos, and Anaheim? Read Norm Reeves Ford Superstore's guide to the Ford Escape safety features to find out!

AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™

The Ford Escape is equipped with standard AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control, a performance feature that ensures peace of mind. It works with two gyroscopic sensors to monitor yaw and tow rates. If it detects a wheel slip, roll motion, or over- or understeering, it'll keep you in control.

Curve Control and Torque Vectoring Control

Curve Control is a new standard safety feature designed to help you avoid potential accidents. If you're traveling too fast while approaching a curve, it will automatically reduce throttle and activate anti-lock braking to slow down the car. This also works with standard Torque Vectoring Control to transfer torque to the appropriate wheels and minimize over- and understeering while driving on a curve.

Intelligent 4WD System

When the roads get a little rough, the Ford Escape's Intelligent 4WD System goes to work to maintain overall stability and control. It monitors road conditions constantly and automatically transfers torque from the front wheels to the back wheels to optimize handling and maximize traction to help you avoid a collision.

SYNC® 3

The SYNC® 3 system in the Ford Escape may be known for its entertainment capabilities, but it's also designed for safety. With the addition of Siri® Eyes Free, drivers can make calls, send texts, and open some of their favorite apps on their mobile devices with simple voice commands. This minimizes distractions and keeps your eyes on the road.

Adaptive Cruise Control

With Adaptive Cruise Control, you can cruise through Long Beach, Anaheim, and Cerritos without worries. When activated, the system maintains a speed and following distance you select. If traffic around you begins to slow, Adaptive Cruise Control will make the vehicle slow down automatically and resume the preset speed once traffic picks up.

Collision Warning with Brake Support

Collision Warning with Brake Support scans your surroundings ahead. If it detects that you're in danger of a frontal collision, the system will activate visual and audible warnings to help you slow down. The brakes will also precharge and increase sensitivity to ensure maximum response.

Enhanced Active Park Assist

With the new available Enhanced Park Assist, parking is easier and safer. When it finds an appropriately sized parking spot, it will steer the vehicle accordingly to help get into the spot without hitting anything around you. It will also provide instructions on how to get out of a tight spot and warn you if you're too close to an object on the side.
